Seng Wins Second Of The Year In Greenbush

Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom lead all 25 laps en route to his second NLRA feature win of the season Saturday night at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. Seng's win is also his 33rd in his career, most all time on the NLRA wins list.

Seng and June Greenbush winner Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MasterSbilt, lead the field to the green, with Cole Schill taking the lead on the bottom in the first turns. Seng motored around the outside of Schill off of turn four to lead the first lap.

Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom, won his first race of the year at River Cities Speedway last Friday night. Mike Balcaen, winner at the Speedway two weeks prior crossed the line second in the No. 10 Enns Brothers Black Diamond, with Shane Edginton, driver of the No. 4 Performance Auto Victory rounding out the podium in third. Steffen Snare, driver of the No. 71 Todd's Electric Bloomquist finished fourth in his season debut, while two-time track champion Joey Pederson, driver of the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors MB Custom rounded out the top five.

2016 Season Roars To Life For NLRA Regulars

The River Cities Speedway roared to life in a big way Friday night. 16 late models began their 2016 campaigns at the River Cities Speedway test and tune night. As the night went on, the moisture under the track worked its way to the surface, creating very fast conditions, with the cushion ascending no further than the middle of the track for the duration of the night.

Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom, set a new track record for late models, with a time of 11.584 seconds. Seng then lowered that mark to 11.514 seconds, at just under 94 mph for an average speed.

John Halvorson Rolls Late Model At River Cities

We're very fortunate to not have images like this very often, but Friday night April 22nd, Rick Rea caught this horrific rollover suffered by John Halvorson of Warren, MN. As he was beginning his 11th lap of practice, some onlookers reported having seen something fall out the back of Halvorson's car shortly before entering turn one, with the car then hooking a rut and flipping violently through the corner. This was Halvorson's first night out with this MB Custom chassis. Halvorson was o.k. after the wreck. Halvorson is a veteran driver, having started racing in the Super Stock division at the in Grand Forks (now River Cities) Speedway the mid 1990's, starting around the same time as fellow late model competitors Joey Pederson and Brad Seng started raced supers. Halvorson has also raced in the Midwest Modified, and Street Stock divisions. Halvorson has a late model win at River Cities on July 17, 2009, he finished a season's best third on July 3 last season. Halvorson's sponsors include Taco John's, Halvorson's Welding & Repair, Roger's Renovations, Planet Fitness, Quality Cleaners, Budweiser, and Bud Light.

Mike Balcaen Wins At Red River Co-Op; Bill Mooney Wins At River Cities

A pair of canadian drivers were winners of the two NLRA series races contested last week, as Mike Balcaen of Winnipeg, MB won at the Red River Co-Op Speedway on Thursday night, and Bill Mooney of Selkirk, MB won at the River Cities Speedway on Friday night.

Mike Balcaen, the NLRA series point leader and driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, lead flag-to-flag for his first NLRA series victory of the season, and 22nd of his NLRA career, third best on the series' all-time wins list.

NLRA Event Preview - Greenbush Race Park

This Saturday night, July the 25th, the NLRA returns for the second and final time this season to the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom, won his second NLRA feature of the season, and his second overall at the three-eights mile oval during the NLRA series first stop this season, and first event in nearly four years at Greenbush on June 20th. Seng lead the final three laps after chasing down race long leader Ricky Weiss in traffic. Seng will head into Greenbush having won two of the last three NLRA series events, including last Saturday nights' outing at the Devils Lake Speedway.

Pederson Wins At River Cities, Brad Seng Wins Greenbush Return

Joey Pederson won his eighth career NLRA feature at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks Friday night, breaking a tie with former series champions Troy Schill and Troy Olson to put him in sole position of ninth on the wins list. Pederson dedicated the win to his friend Scott Volker, who is battling stage four liver cancer. Pederson got the jump on pole-sitter Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, and lead flag-to-flag. Pederson was never able to build a comfortable lead, though, due to the high number of cautions during the race. Balcaen finished second, with Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom finishing third after a late charge from the seventh starting spot.

NLRA Event Preview - River Cities Speedway & Greenbush Race Park

The NLRA is scheduled to race twice this weekend, first on Friday night at the River Cities Speedway, then on Saturday night at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. On Friday night, June the 19th, the NLRA makes its' 23rd appearance at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND, where the series will once again race alongside the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, broke a long winless streak at River Cities last June, the 21st win of his NLRA career.
