On Saturday night June the 20th, the NLRA will try to make its' return to the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. The series tried twice last season to race in Greenbush for the first time since 2011, but the original date on June 14th, and the rescheduled event on July 12th were both lost to rain just prior to hot laps on each occasion. The event is scheduled to be the 20th visit by the NLRA to the tight three-eighths mile oval, which was unfortunately closed down for the entire 2012 season.
Joey Pederson won the last visit to Greenbush in 2011, and was followed to the line by Mike Balcaen in second, Ricky Weiss third, last Thursday nights' winner at the Red River Co-Op Speedway, Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 OMG Candy MasterSbuilt by JMR was fourth, and Greg Ferris fifth. Mooney was the hard charger moving up to fourth from the 12th starting spot. Mike Balcaen won the late model track championship at Greenbush during the tracks' opening season in 1991, and has added three NLRA series wins to his resume since then.
