Brad Seng lead all 25 laps en route to his second NLRA feature win of the season Saturday night at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. Seng's win is also his 33rd in his career, most all time on the NLRA wins list. Seng was followed to the line by defending series champion Dustin Strand, June winner in Greenbush Cole Schill, 2011 Greenbush winner Joey Pederson, and Steffen Snare, who rounded out the top five. Bill Mooney completed a July sweep of hard charger awards, picking up his third in-a-row, coming from the 16th starting spot to finish seventh. Seng increased his point lead to 44 markers over sixth place finisher Shane Edginton. NLRA series action continues of Saturday night August the 13th at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND.

On Saturday night, July the 30th, the NLRA will take the track for the second and final time in 2016, and 24th time overall, at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. The series is also scheduled to make their second of now three away-from-River Cities appearances with the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association.
Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MasterSbilt, lead all 25 laps en route to winning his first NLRA series feature on June 18th. Cole became the third Schill to win in Greenbush, as his father Howie won two races in a row in Greenbush in 2007 and again in 2008. Cole's uncle Troy won the series second appearance in Greenbush in July of 1999. Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium, became the second driver this season to win two NLRA features in six days, winning Saturday night at the Devils Lake Speedway near Crary, ND. Strand's first win in the six day time period came at the Red River Valley Speedway on July 17th. Strand matched Cole Schill's mark, as Schill won on June 18th in Greenbush and June 24th in West Fargo. Strand's win is also his seventh career NLRA series triumph, tying him two-time series champion Troy Schill, and 2006 series co-champion Troy Olson for ninth on the series all time wins list. Dustin Strand became the second driver this season to win NLRA feature six days apart, as he passed Shane Edginton on lap twelve to win at the Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday night. Cole Schill won races six days apart earlier this season on June 18th in Greenbush and June 24th in Fargo. Strand's win is also his seventh career NLRA series triumph, tying him two-time series champion Troy Schill, and 2006 series co-champion Troy Olson for ninth on the series all time wins list. As Strand was near victory, the trio of Manitoba racers battle three-wide for fourth in lapped traffic, with ninth starting Bill Mooney securing second at the line for his second consecutive hard charger award, over third finishing Shane Edginton, who nursed his damaged number four car home third, and Mike Balcaen who finished fourth. Brad Seng rounded out the top five after starting twelfth. The races were delayed by one hour after it rained most of the day, but the feature was arguably the best of the season thus far in NLRA competition. Brad Seng will carry a 30 point advantage over Shane Edginton when the series returns to the Greenbush Race Park this Saturday July the 30th, as the series will one again co-headline an event with the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association Sprint Cars.

On Saturday night, July the 23rd, the NLRA will head west for the 18th time in series history to the Devils Lake Speedway near Crary, ND. The track hosted two series events last season, and is scheduled to do so again this season.
Last season, Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom and Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium split the season series in Devils Lake last season.
Two-time and defending NLRA series champion Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium, picked up his first series win of the season Sunday evening at the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND.
The win was Strand's sixth career series triumph, which puts him in a tie for eleventh on the NLRA series all-time wins list, as he joins Dale Skytland, Kevin Sexton, and Pat Doar. Strand also became the first driver to win multiple NLRA features at the speedway. Two-time and defending NLRA series champion Dustin Strand picked up his first series win of the season Sunday evening at the Red River Valley Speedway. The win was Strand's sixth career series triumph, while also becoming the first driver to win multiple NLRA features at the speedway. Strand started second, and lead all 25 laps of the main event. Fellow two-time champ and current NLRA series point leader Brad Seng finished second, with Mike Balcaen third, two-time series winner this season Cole Schill in fourth, and Minnesota Iron Ranger Jeffrey Massingill rounding out the top five. Bill Mooney was the hard charger, backing up his B-Main win with a charge from the 17th spot to finish ninth. Seng will carry a 40 point lead over Shane Edginton into this Saturday nights' event at the Devils Lake Speedway.

On Sunday night, July the 17th, the NLRA will co-headline closing night festivities at the Red River Valley Fair with the NOSA Sprint Cars. This event marks just the fourth time the areas two premier racing series have shared an event at a speedway other than the River Cities Speedway, and first since June 10th, 2007.
Jeremy Keller and Jason Linnell were winners in 2007 at the Nodak Speedway in Minot, ND. The Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN hosted the other two in 1998 and 2001. This is also scheduled to be the ninth appearance by the NLRA on the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, seventh on the current three-eights mile configuration, and second since the track reopened this past May after sitting dormant since the conclusion of the 2012 racing season.
Corcoran Wins At River Cities
Tom Corcoran, driver of the No. T1 D&B Motors Rocket, picked up a popular victory at the River Cities Speedway last Friday night, his first at the track since June 4, 2010. The 61-year-old veteran of 47 racing seasons, started on the pole, and lead all twenty laps, while doing a text book job in lapped traffic, which was key to his victory. Joey Pederson, driver of the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors MB Custom finished second, Dustin Strand was third in the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium.
After running the seasons first seven races in a span of 14 days, the NLRA schedule is on a bit of a hiatus, but that doesn't mean its' series regulars have taken any time off.
Last Thursday night at the Red River Co-Op Speedway in Winnipeg, Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium, won the feature in his first appearance at the speedway in 2016. Current speedway point leader Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Enns Brothers Black Diamond, finished second to Strand, while Shane Edginton, driver of the No. 4 Performance Auto Victory finished fourth, and sits four points back of Balcaen for the point lead. |
