Photos courtesy of Nick Anderson The NLRA returned to the Rushmore State in fine form last weekend, as all three race contested in this year’s edition of ‘The Rumble’ became instant classics at one of WISSOTA’s finest race tracks, with hometown ace Chase Gelling and Late Model’s newest sensation Tyler Peterson headlining the weekend’s results.

This Friday night, July 14th and on Saturday night July 15th, the Northern Late Model Racing Association makes its second and third ever appearances in the state of South Dakota, as the Grand Forks, North Dakota based series will be part of the annual Rumble event held at Aberdeen's Brown County Speedway.

The first of the final four races of the 2021 NLRA season is coming up this Sunday night, August the 15th, as the NLRA returns to the Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon, ND. The race is scheduled to be the 14th event at the quarter-mile oval on the Ransom County Fairgrounds.

Chad Becker took the lead with two laps remaining and won his first NLRA feature of the season Sunday night at the Nodak Speedway in Minot, ND. Becker's win is his fourth with the series, and first since 2019 at the Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon, ND. Cole Schill finished second, with Brody Troftgruben, who led the first 23 laps, finishing third. New point leader Shane Edginton finished fourth, while Magic City native Steven Pfeifer rounded out the top five. Edginton will now carry a 64 point lead into Saturday's race at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND.

Speedway Shots photo. This Saturday night, August the 22nd, the series will make it's first and only visit of the 2020 campaign to the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND. This event is scheduled to be the 25th visit to the quarter-mile on the Stutzman County Fairgrounds.

Chad Becker, driver of the No. 12B Aberdeen Wings MB Custom, turned a rainout at the Casino Speedway in Watertown, SD earlier in the day, into an NLRA victory Sunday night at the Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon, ND. The win is Becker's third career NLRA series victory, and first since 2010 at the Red River Valley Speedway on the old half mile, as he continues his pursuit as the current Wissota national point leader, to become a two-time national champion.

Mike Balcaen won his first NLRA series feature of the season Saturday night at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND. The win is his third at the high-banked, quarter-mile, Stutzman County speedplant, and also his 26th with the series, tying the late great John Seitz for second on the all-time wins list.

This Saturday night, the NLRA returns to action with the lid lifter to the 2019 season at the Devils Lake Speedway near Crary, ND. The race kicks off the 22nd season of action for the NLRA, and will be the 23rd visit by the club to the high banked, third-mile oval.
