The NLRA heads north of the border for its' annual appearance this Thursday night, July the 2nd, at the Red River Co-Op Speedway, near Winnipeg, MB, Canada. The race is scheduled to be the 24th NLRA race at the speedway, which hosted the NLRA's inaugural event back in 1998. Two-time and defending NLRA champion, Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom, won last years' race at the four-tenths mile oval, defeating three-time and defending Wissota champion Ricky Weiss, pilot of the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist. 2013 NLRA champion Dustin Strand, driving the Q&Z Plumbing & Heating No. 71, three-time NLRA titlist Mike Balcaen, in the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, and Steffen Snare, in the No. 71A High Mark Snomobile Rentals Bloomquist, rounded out the top five.

The NLRA embarked on a grueling five race stretch last week, and only saw one event lost to rain, and two different winners. The action began an hour late on Wednesday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, as a rain storm that his just before six o'clock. Ricky Weiss, driver of the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist, pulled away from a hard charging Don Shaw, and lead the final 21 laps to win his 14th career NLRA main event. The win gave Weiss sole posession of fourth on the all-time wins list, breaking a tie he held with Mitch Johnson.
Brad Seng won his third NLRA feature of the season, and 29th of his career Sunday night at the Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, MN. Seng took the lead from Donny Schatz on lap 15 and lead the remainder of the race. Cody Skytland finished second, with Mike Balcaen third, Schatz fourth, and Dustin Strand rounding out the top five. Ricky Weiss won his third series feature in as many nights on Friday night during the NLRA's debut at the I-94 speedway in Fergus Falls, MN. Ricky Weiss took the lead on lap 15 after Don Shaw retired from the race. Shaw lead the first 14 laps. Veteran Lance Matthees finished second, with Eric Breeschoten finishing third, Mike Balcaen fourth, and Dustin Strand finishing fifth after starting eleventh. Mike Balcaen will take a six point advantage over Strand into Saturday nights event at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. Ricky Weiss lead 23 of 25 laps for his second win in as many nights, and 15th career NLRA feature win Thursday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Dustin Strand and Zach Johnson put on the best battle on the track as they swapped second and third for most of the last half of the race, with Strand coming out on top. Steffen Snare and Donny Schatz rounded out the top five. The track crew worked hard to fight a rain storm that his just before six o'clock, and the races only started an hour late. Don Shaw, Mike Balcaen, Matt Aukland, and Cole Schill completed the top five. Balcaen was the hard charger, moving up nine spots, and with a DNF by Brad Seng, Balcaen also took over the point lead by ten markers over Dustin Strand heading into Thursday nights' event. Some more drivers are expected in Ada Thursday night as Donny Schatz, Zach Johnson, John Kaanta, and Lance Matthees are rumored to show. The busiest stretch of the NLRA season continues this week with a demanding run of five races in as many nights. The action starts on Wedesday night, June the 24th and Thursday night, June the 25th at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. On Friday night, June the 26th, the drivers will head south to make the series first appearance at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN. Saturday night, action continues for the second time this season at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN, before the five race swing ends on Sunday night at the Buffalo River Race Park near Glyndon, MN.

Joey Pederson won his eighth career NLRA feature at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks Friday night, breaking a tie with former series champions Troy Schill and Troy Olson to put him in sole position of ninth on the wins list. Pederson dedicated the win to his friend Scott Volker, who is battling stage four liver cancer. Pederson got the jump on pole-sitter Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, and lead flag-to-flag. Pederson was never able to build a comfortable lead, though, due to the high number of cautions during the race. Balcaen finished second, with Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom finishing third after a late charge from the seventh starting spot.
Brad Seng won his second NLRA feature of the season Saturday night at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. Seng's win is also his 28th career series win. Ricky Weiss was second, Dustin Strand was third, with Cody Skytland fourth and Shane Edginton fifth. Seng now has an 18 point lead over Mike Balcaen three races into the season, with Dustin Strand, Matt Aukland, and Shane Edginton rounding out the top five.
