Friday night marks the ninth year in a row that the series will run with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series. Last season, Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing and Heating Millenium SRT, won the NLRA show with the Outlaws, stealing the win on the last corner of the last lap. This season at River Cities in weekly action, three races have been run. Lance Schill has one victory in his No. 17 Schill Construction MB Custom. Strand won both the Modified and Late Model features on May 14, while rookie Mike Greseth parked the No. 17 Quality Engines Rocket XR1 in victory lane last Friday night. Strand heads into Friday as the point leader at the speedway by three markers over Shane Edginton and his No. 5E Forks Mobile Wash Victory. On Saturday night, the series returns to the Sure Step I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls for the second time this season. Dave Mass won the May 21st race, leading all 25 laps in the Structural Buildings No. 2. Bryce Sward, Greseth, Edginton, and Ryan Mikkelson rounded out the top five. | Mike Greseth was the winner at Grand Rapids, and is the current series point leader. Speedway Shots photo. Related |
Saturday's main event will pay $2,088 to win in honor of Dick Johanneck, who passed away in 2018.
On Sunday night, the series finishes the three race swing with the return to the Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, MN.
The series last raced at Buffalo River in 2016, and it was Dustin Strand who picked up the victory that night.
Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom won in 2015, while Zach Johnson was the 2013 victor. Shane Edginton won his first career Late Model feature at the series debut at the speedway in 2012.
