On Thursday night, the NLRA will race at the Norman County Raceway for the 22nd time in series history as part of the Norman County Fair. Last season at Norman County, Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium SRT won both races held at the three-eighths mile oval, his second and third at the track in his NLRA career. Strand is tied with Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom, as the winningest series regulars at the track with three a piece. Racing begins at seven on Thursday night with IMCA Sprint Cars among the five classes on the card. On Saturday night, the series heads west for the first of two visits this season to the Devils Lake Speedway near Doyon, ND. for the 3rd Annual Golden Hammer Classic presented by Walhalla Building Center. Brad Seng and Shane Edginton, driver of the Performance Auto No. 5E, are the previous winners of the Golden Hammer, while Brody Troftgruben parked the No. 14 Applegren Const. Racing begins at seven on Saturday night with the Western Renegade Non-Wing Sprints among the five classes on the card.
The week concludes on Sunday night at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, as the series will be part of the closing day of the Greater Grand Forks Fair.
The only previous series event for 2021 at the Speedway was lost to rain on June 4th. In weekly action at River Cities, five Late Model races have been run, and there is yet to be a repeat winner.
Lance Schill won the opener on May 7th in the No. 17 Schill Construction MB Custom. Dustin Strand won on May 14th, while rookie Mike Greseth won for the second night in a row in the No. 17 Quality Engines Rocket XR1 after winning the NLRA show at Grand Rapids the previous night.
Brody Troftgruben won his first feature at the track on June 11th, and Joey Pederson picked up last week's win in the Dahlstrom Motors No. 7P.
Strand is the point leader at River Cities by 22 markers over Pederson. Edginton, Troftgruben, and Schill round out the top five.
Racing begins at six on Sunday with the Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints among the four classes on the card. You can also catch the action live on Midco Sports Net.
Shane Edginton is the current series point leader by 22 markers over Mike Greseth. Brad Seng, Bryce Sward and his Klinder Processing No. 1-2, and Strand round out the top five.
Cole Schill is sixth in the No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MB Custom, with Kevin Robertson seventh with the MLGC No. 10R. Brody Troftgruben, Steve Anderson and his Pro Mark Services No. 9, and Troy Schill with his Todd’s Electric No. 11 round out the top ten.
