Brad Seng won his first NLRA series feature of the season Saturday night at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. The win is Seng's 34th career NLRA feature victory, and fourth in Greenbush. Seng lead flag-to-flag in a race that went green-white-checkered. Ricky Weiss finished second with, Shane Edginton was third, Mike Balcaen fourth, and Cole Schill fifth. Dustin Strand will be the point leader when the series heads to the Devils Lake Speedway next Saturday night.

The race is scheduled to be the 25th race in series history in Greenbush, is also scheduled to be the series third race on the newly reconfigured high banked oval that measures at just over a quarter-mile.

For the 25th time in series history, the NLRA is scheduled to visit the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN this Saturday night, June the 24th. This will be the series third race on the newly reconfigured high banked oval that measures at just over a quarter-mile. The Northern Late Model Racing Association's 20th season of action will feature 17 big events during this anniversary season. In 1998, the Grand Forks, ND based racing series debuted with four races on its' initial slate of races, setting a foundation that the series continues to build off of today. The 2017 season will begin on June 16th, as the series will co-headline events at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Both series will make the 80 mile trip south to race together again at the Red River Valley Speedway in Fargo the following night. The first date of the Northern Late Model Racing Association's 20th season of racing has been announced. The series will head to the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN on June 24th, 2017. The race would be the 25th for the series at the high banked three-tenths mile oval. The NLRA visited Greenbush twice in 2016. Cole Schill won his first NLRA series feature during the first event on June 18th. Brad Seng won the second visit on July 30th. The Greenbush Race Park has been a regular stop on the NLRA tour. Seng and June Greenbush winner Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MasterSbilt, lead the field to the green, with Cole Schill taking the lead on the bottom in the first turns. Seng motored around the outside of Schill off of turn four to lead the first lap.

Seng was followed to the line by defending series champion Dustin Strand, June winner in Greenbush Cole Schill, 2011 Greenbush winner Joey Pederson, and Steffen Snare, who rounded out the top five. Bill Mooney completed a July sweep of hard charger awards, picking up his third in-a-row, coming from the 16th starting spot to finish seventh. Seng increased his point lead to 44 markers over sixth place finisher Shane Edginton. NLRA series action continues of Saturday night August the 13th at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND.

On Saturday night, July the 30th, the NLRA will take the track for the second and final time in 2016, and 24th time overall, at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. The series is also scheduled to make their second of now three away-from-River Cities appearances with the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association.
Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MasterSbilt, lead all 25 laps en route to winning his first NLRA series feature on June 18th. Cole became the third Schill to win in Greenbush, as his father Howie won two races in a row in Greenbush in 2007 and again in 2008. Cole's uncle Troy won the series second appearance in Greenbush in July of 1999.
Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Enns Brothers Black Diamond, and Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MasterSbilt, split the NLRA double header weekend with Balcaen winning at River Cities, and Schill scoring at the Greenbush Race Park.
Balcaen's win is his 23rd series victory, third best on the all-time list, while Schill's win is his first NLRA series triumph, the 51st driver on series history to win a feature. Both drivers lead from flag-to-flag en route to their victories. Schill is also the second new winner in as many weeks, as Zach Naastad won his first NLRA series feature in June 11th at the Jamestown Speedway. |
