Two NLRA drivers remained hot at local tracks last week, as Joey Pederson, and Steffen Snare picked up victories. Last Thursday night, Steffen Snare, driver of the No. 71 Todd's Electric Swartz, captured his second win of the season at the Red River Co-Op Speedway near Winnipeg, MB. Then on Friday night, Joey Pederson, driver of the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors Mars MB Custom, remained undefeated this season at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND, winning his third race in as many nights. Some other NLRA regulars who had strong runs include Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Victory Circle, who scored a pair of top five finishes, both in Winnipeg and Grand Forks.
Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport Mars MB Custom was a runner-up to Pederson on Friday. Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71S Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium, rebounded from a DNF on Thursday in Winnipeg, grabbing third place on Friday at River Cities. Zach Naastad, driver of the No. Z17 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating entry earned his first top five of the season on Friday. Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 freehearingtest.ca Rocket finished fifth on Thursday, and sixth on Friday. Steve Anderson, driver of the No. 9 Hi-Per Flex Panel Systems Pierce, Tom Corcoran, and his No. T1 D&B Motors Rocket, also picked up top tens at River Cities last Friday.
Many NLRA Regulars will compete against some of the best late models drivers in the business, this week, when the World of Outlaws Late Model Series makes its' annual visit to the area. First on Thursday night, July the 11th, the tour makes its' second appearance in as many seasons' to the Red River Co-Op Speedway. Then on Friday night, July the 12th, the Outlaws 'wild west series' comes to an end at the River Cities Speedway. The NLRA season continues on July 18th when the series makes its second appearance of the season at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, Mn.
