The Northern Late Model Racing Association is set to make its' lone appearance of the 2014 season this Saturday night, August the 2nd, at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND. The race is scheduled to be the 19th race in series history at the quarter-mile speedway on the Stutsman County Fairgrounds. Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Victory Circle took the lead from Joey Pederson on lap 13 and lead the final twelve laps on his way to winning last year race in Jamestown.
The win made Balcaen just the third driver in series history to win twenty NLRA features. Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport Mars MB Custom became the second to hit that mark earlier in the season at the Emo Speedway in Ontario, Canada. Balcaen and Seng are also tied with two previous series victories in Jamestown, while Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Lithia Toyota/Pizza Ranch Rocket and Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71S Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium are the only other series regulars with NLRA wins at the track, sharing one apiece. A win for Brad Seng on Saturday would be his third straight series win of 2014, and he would be only one win away from tying John Seitz for the lead on the all time wins list.

Ricky Weiss, and the Derrick's Sandblasting No. 7 is now third, with defending series champion Dustin Strand fourth. Shane Edginton, driver of the No. 5E Alonlea Group Victory Circle and Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Rivinius Ranch Rocket are tied for fifth. Bill Mooney is two points behind Edginton and Schill in seventh. Pat Doar is eighth, with Steve Anderson, driver of the No. 9 Hi-Per-Flex Panel Systems Pierce in ninth and Donny Schatz rounding out the top ten.
