NLRA series action continues this Saturday night, July the 26th, at the Devils Lake Speedway near Doyon, ND. The race is scheduled to be the fourteenth appearance at the three eighths mile clay oval that is located 15 miles east of Devils Lake. The track originally opened in 2000, and continued hosting weekly racing action until it closed for two seasons in 2009, before reopening for the 2011 season. Since then only Canadian drivers Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Lithia Toyota/Pizza Ranch Rocket and former series champion Ricky Weiss driver of the Derrick's Sandblasting No. 7 have visited victory lane.
Mooney's win is came at the most recent series race at the speedway, as he lead all 25 laps, defeating Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport Mars MB Custom, and Pat Doar and his No. 11 Speedwerx Capital for his second career NLRA series victory. A pair of 71's rounded out the top five, with Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71S Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium and Steffen Snare, driver of the No. 71 High Mark Snowmobile Rentals Bloomquist finishing fourth and fifth respectively. Other previous series winners at the track include Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Victory Circle with three wins, while Brad Seng and has one victory to his credit.
Brad Seng leads the NLRA point standings heading into the weekend with a 42 point advantage over Ricky Weiss. Mike Balcaen sits in the third spot, while Dustin Strand & Shane Edginton, driver of the No. 5E Avonlea Group Victory Circle rounding out the top five. Pat Doar sits in the sixth spot, with Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Rivinius Ranch Rocket in seventh, Bill Mooney eighth, Donny Schatz ninth, and Steve Anderson, driver of the No. 9 Hi-Per-Flex Panel Systems Pierce, rounding out the top ten.
