The NLRA is set to make its' third and final appearance at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND. The race is also the third annual 'Prelude to the Johnny' race, the first of three straight race nights where they will pay tribute to the John Seitz. The four time NLRA champion won 26 features with the series, which is still tops on the series' all time wins list.
Joey Pederson, driver of the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors Mars MB Custom won the NLRA's June event at the speedway, Donny Schatz won the August race. Along with Pederson and Schatz, Brad Seng, Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71S Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium, and Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 freehearingtest.ca Rocket have scored top tens in both NLRA events at River Cities this season. Seng was the hard charger in June, Mooney and Steffen Snare, driver of the No. 71 Todd's Electric Swartz were hard chargers in August.
Dustin Strand brings a 44 point lead over Brad Seng into the final race of the season. Nine of the top ten have solidified their spots inside the top ten, making the back of next years' NLRA T-Shirt, but some of the positions are still up in the air. Joey Pederson sits third, while Mike Balcaen and Bill Mooney round out the top five. Steve Anderson is sixth, while Cole Schill and his uncle Troy Schill are only separated by six points in seventh and eighth respectively. Billy Michaelsohn in the No. 8 Dave's West Fargo Tire Rayburn is ninth. Norm Olson has Zach Johnson and Pat Doar within striking distance for the tenth spot in the series standings.
