In the previous two series races in Greenbush this season, Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium SRT, and Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Enns Brothers Black Diamond, have come out the victors. Strand's win came on June 23rd, where he lead from lap two to the finish, defeating early leader Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom. Balcaen's win on July 28th was a hard fought victory, holding off Seng, who lead the 19th lap, for his 25th series victory. Seng finished second at both events at Greenbush this season, and will head into the rubber match as the most recent series winner, having won last Saturday night at the Red River Valley Speedway. Along with Balcaen, Seng, and Strand, four other drivers have collected top tens in both of the races at the Greenbush Race Park this season. | Brad Seng is the new co-point leader with Dustin Strand. Hallock's Steffen Snare, driver of the No. 71S Todd's Electric Bloomquist, and Brody Troftgruben, driver of the No. 14 R&R Landscaping Rocket, finished eighth and ninth, then ninth and tenth in the two races respectively.
2011 Greenbush winner Joey Pederson, driver of the No. 7P Vesey Plumbing Victory, will have a busy night on Saturday night in Greenbush, as he and both his kids will be in action. Pederson's daughter Kelsi is the current NLSA Lightning Sprint point leader, and his son Tucker will campaign his Street Stock, as well.
Brad Seng is the winning-est active driver at the Greenbush Race Park, with four wins. 1991 Greenbush champion Mike Balcaen has three wins, including the July 28th victory.
Tom Corcoran, driver of the No. T1 Greg's Lawn Care MB Custom, and Ricky Weiss, driver of the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist, each have two wins. One of Corcoran's victories came during the series debut at the track in 1998.
Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MasterSbilt by JMR, won his first NLRA feature at Greenbush in 2016. Schill's uncle Troy, driver of the No. 11 Albrecht Manufacturing MasterSbilt, also collected his first series win in Greenbush in 1999.
Last week's three race stretch shook up the point battle heading into the final four races of the season. Brad Seng and Dustin Strand are tied for the point lead, setting up another battle between the duo for the series championship.
This is setting up to be the fourth time in six seasons that Strand and Seng are looking to go head-to-head for the series title. They finished the season separated by 24 points in 2013, 32 in 2015, and just eight markers in 2016. Strand won in 2013 and 2015.
Current Wissota national point leader Mike Balcaen is third, with Shane Edginton and Troy Schill rounding out the top five.
Brody Troftgruben is sixth, with Jesse Teunis, driver of the No. 70 Grand Prix Amusements MasterSbilt in seventh, and Ryan Corbett, driver of the No. C4 Corbett Trucking MasterSbilt in eighth. Bill Mooney and Joey Pederson round out the top ten.
Racing starts at seven on Saturday night. For more information on the event, visit our Tracks page, or visit greenbushracepark.com.
