This Friday night, August the 17th, the NLRA will co-headline with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for the second time this season at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. The race is scheduled to be the 36th visit to the quarter-mile, high-banked oval on the Grand Forks Fairgrounds, and the third of the 2018 season.
Ricky Weiss, driver of the No. 7 Hawkeye Construction Bloomquist won a thriller the last time the series ran with the Outlaws on June 15th. Weiss chased down early leader Travis Robertson, driver of the No. 1R Tires Plus MasterSbilt, with the pair going three-wide with Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Lithia Toyota of Grand Forks MasterSbilt. Donny Schatz, driver of the No. 15 Fargo Petro Rocket, was also a contender in June, leading lap six, and eventually finishing fifth. Dustin Strand finished second in the No. 71 Keewatin Truck Service Millenium SRT on June 15th, then went on to score the win two weeks later on Midco Night at the Speedway. Shane Edginton, driver of the No. 4 Performance Auto Victory, finished second on June 29th, with Ryan Corbett completing the podium in the No. C4 Jess Rice Crary Realty MasterSbilt.
