NLRA series action continues this Saturday night, August the 8th, with a trip to Minnesota's iron range, as the series will head east to take on the Hibbing Raceway and its' own stout contingent of late model racers, for just the fourth time in series history. Dustin Strand, driver of the Q&Z Plumbing & Heating No. 71, will try to carry his momentum into Hibbing, after coming off a win at the Jamestown Speedway last Saturday night. Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, will try to hold the point lead that he has held since the NLRA series debut at the I-94 Speedway in June. Balcaen will head into Hibbing with only eight points separating himself and Strand atop the series standings. Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom will head into Hibbing as the defending winner of the NLRA event in Hibbing, and will be only 22 points back of Balcaen for the series lead.
Pat Doar finished second to Seng in Hibbing last year, with Bobby Carlson finishing third, Zach Wohlers finishing third fourth, and Ricky Weiss in the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist, rounding out the top five. Shane Edginton, driver of the No. 5E Avonlea Group Victory Circle was sixth, with Dustin Strand finishing seventh. Hibbing regulars Harry Hanson and Chris Olson finished eighth and ninth respectively, with Mike Balcaen rounding out the top ten.
Like the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN, the Hibbing Raceway boasts a stout contingent of local talent including defending track champion Terry Lillo, Jay Kintner, Jeff Massingill, who has an NLRA series victory in Hibbing two years ago, along with Jeff Provinzino, and perennial Wissota national title contenders Kyle Peterlin and Harry Hanson, along with the a fore mentioned Zach Wohlers and Chris Olson, among others. In weekly action in Hibbing this season, Kyle Peterlin heads into Saturday's event on a three race win streak, while John Kaanta has two wins, with Harry Hanson and Jay Kintner having scored one win apiece. Harry Hanson leads the points standings in Hibbing by ten markers over Tommy Waseleski, Jr.

Steve Anderson, driver of the No. 9 Hi-Per-Flex Panel Systems Pierce is in the sixth spot, with Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Rivinius Ranch MasterSbuilt by JMR in seventh, Jeff Hapala, driver of the No. 16S Auto Solutions Rocket eighth, Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 OMG Candy MasterSbuilt by JMR ninth, and Norm Olson, driver of the No. 29 Disabled American Veterans MasterSbuilt rounding out the top ten.
