The weekend starts Thursday night, June the 23rd, at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minnesota with the Ada Nationals. This is the first of two scheduled events at the three-eighths mile Norman County oval. This will be the 24th scheduled visit by the series To Norman County. Brad Seng and Dustin Strand are the winningest drivers at Norman County in NLRA competition with three wins each, but arguably, the most anticipated driver this weekend will be the inaugural winner at Norman County in 1998, Mitch Johnson, who is expected to bring the historic No. 00 Northwest Auto Body Swartz back to series action in Ada, following it’s return to the speedway last week. On Friday night, the series returns to the Sure Step I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The series has raced once this season in Fergus Falls, with Jeffrey Massingill winning the Dick Johanneck Memorial King of the Dirt at the three-eights mile Otter Tail county oval on June 4th. Shawn Meyer has taken the point lead in weekly competition at I-94, and will head into Friday night's races with the four-point lead over Dave Mass, and a 29 point lead over NLRA point leader Cole Schill. | Cole Schill is the current series points leader. On Saturday night, the series is scheduled to race for its highest payday in series history, as the fourth annual Golden Hammer Classic will pay $5,000, thanks to Walhalla Builders. This will be the first of two scheduled visits to the Devils Lake Speedway this season after the scheduled race in May was lost to weather.
This will be the 29th visit for the series to the third-mile high-banked oval near Crary, North Dakota. Seng and Strand again lead all drivers in previous victories with the series at the speedway with four victories each.
The four race string ends on Sunday night, June the 26th, at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks for the annual ‘Sunday at the Fair’ race. Brody Troftgruben won the previous NLRA race held at the speedway earlier the season, his second career win at the speedway. Joey Pederson, Lance Schill, and Dustin Strand have also won in weekly competition at the speedway.
Brad Seng leads the track points heading into Sunday with just a two-point lead over Brody Troftgruben, and 13 point lead over Joey Pederson.
Cole Schill heads into the weekend with a 60-point lead over Brad Seng in the series points standings. Brody Troftgruben is third followed by defending series champion, Mike Greseth. and returning NLRA regular, Ryan Kereluk, who complete the top five. Jesse Teunis and Shane Edginton are sixth and seventh respectively, with Ryan Corbett in eighth, and Mike Balcaen and Brandon Corbett rounding out the current top ten.
