Last season, the NLRA made three appearances in Greenbush, with three different winners. Dustin Strand scored first, as he won last June in the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium SRT. Strand lead all but the opening lap, scoring his first Greenbush Late Model win. Last July, Mike Balcaen parked his No. 10 Enns Brothers Black Diamond in victory lane, his third Greenbush NLRA feature win. The win was another drought buster for Balcaen, as he hadn't chalked up a Greenbush triumph in ten years. He held off a hard charging Brad Seng, and his No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom, for the victory. Finally, Last August, it was Shane Edginton who was the victor in the No. 4 Performance Auto Victory, in the rubber match at Greenbush. In another drought buster, Edginton chased down Mike Balcaen with five laps remaining to score his first NLRA victory in two seasons. | Current NLRA point lead Shane Edginton is the most recent Greenbush winner. Brad Seng leads all active drivers with four Greenbush wins. Mike Balcaen has three, while Tom Corcoran, driver of the No. T1 D&B Motors MB Custom, has two previous Greenbush wins, one of which was the series debut at the track in 1998.
Along with Strand and Edginton, who won their first Greenbush races last season, Joey Pederson, Cole Schill, and Troy Schill are the other active series drivers to have scored a Greenbush win.
Pederson, driver of the No. 7P Big Jim's Tire Victory, scored his Greenbush win in 2011. Cole Schill, who drives of the No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MB Custom, won three years ago at Greenbush, his first ever with the series. Schill's uncle Troy, driver of the No. 11 Todd's Electric Black Diamond, won the lone visit to Greenbush in 1999, a win that helped him win the series tour championship that season, as he went back-to-back, picking up titles in each of the series first two seasons.
As aforementioned, Shane Edginton heads to Greenbush as the point leader. He has a 44 point advantage over Dustin Strand. Brad Seng is third, while Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Lithia Toyota of Grand Forks MasterSbilt by JMR, and Brody Troftgruben, driver of the No. 14 Gateway Auto Tech Rocket, round out the top five.
Ryan Corbett is sixth with the No. C4 Corbett Trucking MasterSbilt, with Mike Balcaen seventh, and Jesse Teunis, driver of the No. 70 Grand Prix Amusements MasterSbilt, in eighth.
Rookie Ryan Kereluk, driver of the No. 29K Edison Electric Services Victory, is ninth, as he heads back to the site of his first NLRA race, which happened last August. Troy Schill rounds out the current top ten.
Racing is scheduled to begin at 7 on Saturday night. For more information on the event, visit our Tracks page, or log on to greenbushracepark.com
