Last August, Greenbush became the third track in series history to host the club at least 30 times, joining the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN (45 races), and the River Cites Speedway in Grand Forks, ND (42). This event will also serve as the season opener at Greenbush, as they have had the last six weeks of their season scrubbed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Among those races, was the series first scheduled race at Greenbush, scheduled for June 13th. Last season at Greenbush, a rain out cancelled the first scheduled appearance in June, but the series did get to run the July and August dates. On July 27th last season, it was Joey Pederson parking the No. 7P First Community credit Union Victory in victory lane, defeating Dustin Strand for the win. The series third and final scheduled visit to Greenbush for the 2019 campaign was on August 24th, and it was Dustin Strand, driving the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium, that lead every lap from the pole to score the win. Strand held off Shane Edginton, and his No. 4 Performance Auto Victory, in traffic in the latter stages of the race, lapping up to eighth in a green-white-checkered affair, that lasted just over six minutes. | Dustin Strand was the Greenbush winner last August. Three other NLRA drivers have a single victory at Greenbush. Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MB Custom, won his first series feature at the track in 2016. Troy Schill, driver of the No. 11 Todd's Electric MB Custom, won the series second visit in 1999, a win that helped him win the series title that year. And finally, Shane Edginton, who won the final visit of the 2018 season.
Unfortunately, Balcaen and Edginton, along with Jesse Teunis, Ryan Kereluk, Bill Mooney, and Dave & Matt Smith, will be unable to join us, again due to border restrictions.
Racing is scheduled to begin at seven on Saturday night. For more information, visit our Tracks page, or log on to greenbushracepark.com.
