On Wednesday night, June the 22nd and Thursday night, June the 23rd, the NLRA will headine the opening night events of the 121st Norman County Fair in Ada, MN, as the series is secheduled to make its' 17th and 18th appearances at the three-eighths mile oval.
Ricky Weiss, driver of the No. 7 A.I.E. Communications Rocket, was the big winner last season, as he picked both nights of the then two night series during the fair. Don Shaw won last July's race at the Speedway, his first NLRA series victory in 16 years. Along with Weiss, Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Mid AG Dispatch MasterSbilt, and Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium, were the only four drivers to finish in the top ten in all three trips to Norman County last season. Along with Weiss, Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom and fellow two-time series champion Cody Skytland lead all active drivers with two previous series wins at Norman County, although Pat Doar has two wins at the track, one NLRA, and one with the Wissota Challenge Series. Viking Speedway regulars Zach Johnson and Jeff Wildung have once win a piece, as do Aberdeen, SD native Kent Arment, and two-time and defending series champion Dustin Strand. |

On Friday night, June the 24th, the series makes its' return to the Red River Valley Speedway for the first time since 2012. The show is slated to be the eighth appearance by the series overall, and sixth on the the three-eighths mile oval on the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.
Dustin Strand won the last visit to the West Fargo on August 25th, 2012, which was also the last time a race has taken place at the Speedway prior to this season, after the track was all but abandoned for the last three years. Strand also became the eighth different winner in the eight previous appearances in West Fargo with that win in 2012. Brad Seng finished second that night, with Mike Balcaen, Ricky Weiss, and Mike Johnson rounding out the top five.
Finally on Saturday night, June the 25th, the series returns for the second time in eight days to the River Cities Speedway, running alongside the Greater Grand Forks Fair. Mike Balcaen bounced back from a rollover on June 10th to pick up his 23rd career series victory last Friday night. Brad Seng and Dustin Strand finished second and third respectively, with series point leader Steffen Snare, driver of the No. 71S Todd's Electric Bloomquist, and former point leader Zach Naastad, driver of the Q&Z Plumbing & Heating No. Z17, rounding out the top five.
Mike Balcaen and Dustin Strand lead all drivers at River Cities with two wins each. Brad Seng, and Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Winnipeg Hearing Centres MasterSbilt, have one win each. Seng leads the point in weekly competition at River Cities, with Dustin Strand two points back in second.
Shane Edginton is third, just event markers back from Seng, with Mike Balcaen twelve points beind in fourth, and Bill Mooney rounding out the top five. Zach Naastad is currently sixth, with Brandon Fuller, driver of the Goldmark No. F9 in seventh. Tom Corcoran, driver of the No T1 D&B Motors Rocket, sits eighth, with Steve Anderson, driver of the No. 9 Pro Mark Services Pierce, and Steffen Snare rounding out the top ten.
