
Action will begin on Saturday night, August the 31st, with the series' 30th appearance on the Douglas County Fairgrounds half mile oval. On Sunday night, September the 1st, the series will take part in the speedway's inaugural '4444' race, where 26 drivers will have a chance to win $4,444 for winning the 44 lap main event.
Dustin Strand enters the weekend leading the standings over defending series champion Brad Seng by a 38 point margin. Joey Pederson, driver of the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors Mars MB Custom sits third, with Mike Balcaen in fourth. Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 freehearingtest.ca Rocket rounds out the top five. Steve Anderson, driver of the No. 9 Hi-Per-Flex Panel Systems Pierce is sixth. Troy Schill, driver of the No. 11 Forks Finest Auto Body Victory Circle sits seventh. Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Quaker Steak and Lube Rocket is eighth. Billy Michaelsohn, driver of the No. 8 Dave's West Fargo Tire Rayburn stands in ninth. Norm Olson, driver of the No. 29 BM Transport MasterSbuilt rounds out the top ten.
Troy Schill Wins In Winnipeg, Brad Seng Wins at River Cities
Troy Schill lead all 20 laps of last Thursday night's main event at the Red River Co-Op Speedway near Winnipeg, MB, winning by nearly six seconds. The win was Schill's first of the season. Other NLRA regulars with good finishes in Winnipeg include Bill Mooney and Mike Balcaen who finished third and fourth respectively. Balcaen leads the points in Winnipeg by a 23 point advantage. NLRA'ers were also impressive at the Wissota challenge series event at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Brad Seng finished third in the main event, Dustin Strand was sixth after starting 13th, and Billy Michaelsohn won his heat race by two seconds, and went on to finish 13th in the main event. Seng went on to win the next night at River Cities in Grand Forks, the 35th victory of his late model career at the speedway. Joey Pederson, Dustin Strand, Mike Balcaen, and Tom Corcoran in the No. T1 D&B Motors Rocket rounded out the top five.
