Five-time NLRA series champion Mike Balcaen of Winnipeg, Manitoba, finished third in the NLRA series standings last season. Balcaen lead the point standings from the conclusion of the night at the I-94 Speedway in June, until a pair of nights with engine woes at the Viking Speedway on September 6th, and the prelude to the Johnny on September 10th ended his title hopes. Balcaen won the NLRA feature at the Red River Co-Op Speedway in August, a track where he was, once again, crowned champion. The 2016 season begins on Saturday night at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND, where Balcaen has scored two previous NLRA series victories, those wins coming in 2011 and 2013.

Ricky Weiss of Headingley, Manitoba, finished fourth in the NLRA series standings last season. Weiss, the 2011 NLRA series champion, scored five series wins last season, including three of the scheduled five races during Minnesota Speedweek. Weiss' wins came at Norman County on June 24th, and again the following night on the 25th, I-94 on June 26th, Red River Co-Op on July 2nd, and Greenbush on July 25th. The 2016 season begins this Saturday night at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND, where Weiss tallied a series triumph in June 2012.

Steffen Snare of Hallock, MN, finished fifth in the NLRA series standings last season. Snare is the second driver on the countdown to achieve perfect attendance with the series last season. Snare scored eight top tens, including a seasons' best fourth place run at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN in June 25. The 2016 season starts this Saturday night at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND.

Bill Mooney of Selkirk, MB, finished sixth in the NLRA series standings last season. Mooney's best run with the series in 2015 was his win during the NLRA portion of the World of Outlaws show at River Cities last August. Mooney scored nine more top tens, and four hard charger awards with the series in 2015. The 2016 season starts this Saturday night at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND, the track where Mooney scored his first NLRA series victory in August 2011.

Steve Anderson of Grand Forks, ND, finished seventh in the NLRA series standings last season. Anderson is the first driver featured on our countdown with a perfect attendance record with the series in 2015. A three-time series winner in his career, Anderson scored his best finish in 2015, a seventh place run, during the NLRA portion of the World of Outlaws show on June 19th at River Cities, a race he won on the same date in 2010. Anderson went on to tally four more top tens later on in the season. The 2016 season begins one week from tonight at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND.

There are eight days until the NLRA season opener at the Jamestown Speedway. Jeff Hapala of West Fargo, ND, finished eighth in his third campaign with the NLRA series standings in 2015. Hapala scored a heat race win in front of a capacity crowd during the NLRA portion of the WoO Sprint show at River Cities last August, and qualified for his first John Seitz Memorial feature, while also qualifying for the 'Go Hard or Go Home' pole dash.

We're nine days until the NLRA season opener at the Jamestown Speedway, Cole Schill of West Fargo, ND, finished ninth in the NLRA series standings last season. Schill finished second in the standings at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN, while collecting a win on July 31. Mike Spieker photo.
With 10 days until the opener at the Jamestown Speedway, we move into the top ten in the NLRA standings in 2015. Norm Olson of Fargo, ND, finished tenth in the NLRA series standings last season. Olson made all the NLRA shows south of the US/Canadian Border, his best run, a seventh place finish at the Viking Speedway on September 6th.

Shane Edginton of East St. Paul, Manitoba, finished eleventh in the NLRA series standings last season. Edginton raced eleven times with the tour in 2015, including all three nights at River Cities, all three shows at the Viking Speedway, both races at the Greenbush Race Park, both shows at the Red River Co-Op Speedway, and Jamestown in August. Edginton's best finishes were a pair of fifth place runs at Greenbush on June 20th, and Jamestown on August 1st. The 2016 NLRA season starts in Jamestown on June 11th. Photo by Mike Spieker.
Two-time NLRA series champion Cody Skytland of Fargo, ND, finished 12th in the series standings last season. Skytland appeared in ten races with the series in 2015, including all three races at the Viking Speedway, all three races at Norman County, Greenbush on June 20th, I-94 Speedway on June 26th, Buffalo River on June 28th, and the Prelude to the Johnny' at River Cities in September. Skytland topped the point standings at both Viking and I-94 in 2015.
