Lap four ended with Tyler Peterson as the leader in the No. 1TPO Enclave Rocket XR1 while Mass completed the top three. A pair of lap seven cautions slowed the pace but when the race went back green it was Mass going three wide with Schill and Peterson in turn two but it was the high-riding Mass that took the top spot.
Peterson remained second while Schill did his best to hold on to third over 800-time feature winner in multiple classes Shane Sabraski who was making his series debut.
Mass continued to lead at the midway point as he was looking for the 582nd feature win of his career. Mass started working heavy lapped traffic with seven to go as Schill reeled in and passed Peterson for second.
Schill erased Mass's advantage with three to go as the leaders continued to work traffic, but Mass was able to put a pair of lappers between him and Schill and continue on to victory. Peterson, Sabraski, and Shane Edginton rounded out the top five.
Cole Babcock, driver of the No. 2* Wick Wraps & Fab Rocket XR1 joined Peterson, Schill, and Shaw as the heat winners. Dave Mass won the AFCO award for his third series triumph while Greg Friestad won the SpeedWerx Hard Charger, improving 12 spots in the main event.
