The races Thursday night at Victory Lane will be the first at the four-tenths mile oval since 2018 when Dustin Strand picked up the victory. The series made its debut at the Speedway in 1998 in a race originally scheduled for June 17th but was postponed to June 25th. The Lare Howie Schill picked up the win that night 26 years and one month ago.
Scott Greer leads the season points at Victory Lane so far in 2024. His three main event wins have helped him carry a 14-point lead over Kevin Sexton. Both drivers are former NLRA feature winners. Sexton also has a win at Victory Lane this year as does third place driver in points Shane Holden.
On Friday at River Cities, weekly Late Model action returns to the Bullring for just the third time since June 7th. Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom, leads the standings at River Cities so far this year by just four markers over Dustin Strand. Strand is a four-time winner in five starts in Grand Forks this season in the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Longhorn.
Brody Troftgruben, who won the season opener in the No. 14 R&R Dirt and Gravel Longhorn, is third in points with Ryan Corbett and his No. 50 Corbett Trucking MB Custom and Joey Pederson and his No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors Rocket XR1 complete the top five.
The three-race mini-series concludes at Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday night where Tyler Peterson is the most recent winner. Peterson won the $5,000 Golden Hammer Classic two weeks ago. Dustin Strand is the other series winner at the three-tenths mile oval this season, winning the opener on May 11th.
Troftgruben and Tucker Pederson are the other feature winners at Devils Lake this season. Pederson, driver of the No. 27 North Dakota Eye Clinic MB Custom, won his first career Late Model feature, leading all 25-laps in his eighth career start on June 15th.
Strand leads the points at the track this season by ten points over Cole Schill and his No. 44 Mid Ag Dispatch MB Custom. Joey Pederson and Brody Troftgruben are third and fourth respectively. Rusty Kollman completes the top five in the No. 2RK Kollman Furnace Repair MB Custom.
Cole Schill leads the NLRA series points by 38 over Dustin Strand heading into the weekend. Brody Troftgruben and Brad Seng are third and fourth with Shane Edginton rounding out the top five in the Red River Messenger Courier No. 5E.
Racing begins at seven each night.
