The pair remained side-by-side as Edginton pulled out to a half straightaway advantage. Schill took the second spot back at the end of the second lap as Dustin Strand moved the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Longhorn to the inside of Jason Strand in a battle for third.
Strand took third in turn three and began to reel in Schill for the runner-up spot. Edginton continued the lead through some light lapped traffic at the midway point. The top three remained an equal distance apart before the first caution of the race with ten to go.
The initial restart attempt was erased by a pile up in turn one as Jason Strand and Scott Greer made contact with a bunch of other drivers spinning to avoid contact. Greer was able to continue and held the fourth spot while Jason Strand's night came to an end.
Dustin Strand took second on the restart and began to reel in Edginton for the lead with five to go. Strand ducked to the inside of Edginton for the first time as the two went door-to-door. coming off of turn four, but Strand took the lead as the lead duo crossed under the flag stand with four to go.
Strand pulled away in the closing laps and picked up the victory over Edginton, Cole Schill, Brody Troftgruben, and Scott Greer.
Friday night’s feature at River Cities saw Tyler Peterson and Ryan Corbett share the front row at the start of the second 25-lap feature of the weekend. Peterson led the opening lap in the No. 1TPO QuickLift Rocket XR1 over Corbett’s No. 50 Corbett Trucking MB Custom and Brad Seng and his No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom.
Seng used the low side of the bullring to move past Corbett on the third lap bringing Jason Strand with him as Strand and Corbett went side by side.
With Peterson leading over Seng following a lap six caution, Jason Strand and Seng remained side-by-side for most of the lap in a battle for second with Seng remaining second. Jason Strand was then challenged by Dustin Strand who took the third spot.
The pair of Strands went side-by-side on a couple of occasions in the following laps, though Dustin Strand continued on to battle with Brad Seng for the second spot. Tyler Peterson started working lap traffic with 15 to go as Strand took second for good with 14 to go.
Peterson split a pair of lap cars in his attempt to put some ground between himself and Strand at the midway point. Peterson had another pair of lap cars slow his momentum with eight to go allowing Strand to pull within a car length of the lead.
Two laps later, another pair of lap cars again slowed Peterson's pace allowing Strand to remain close. With Peterson running low and Strand running high with four to go, the pair swapped lines with Peterson slamming the door going into turn three initially but slipped up allowing Strand to take the lead.
Strand led the final four laps to pick up the victory over Tyler Peterson, Brad Seng, Jason Strand, and Ryan Corbett.
Cole Schill and Brody Troftgruben brought the final 25-lap feature to green Saturday night at Devils Lake Speedway. Schill led the opening lap with Dustin Strand moving to the inside of Troftgruben’s No. 14 Lundquist Custom Longhorn for the second spot.
Troftgruben used the outside of the third-mile oval to take the lead on the third lap and brought Dustin Strand with him into the second spot. Strand’s first attempt to take the lead from Troftgruben came on lap seven, moving to the leaders inside, though Troftgruben held on to the position.
The pair remained door-to-door for the lead in turn three just before the midway point with Strand taking the lead shortly thereafter. Strand entered lap traffic with ten to go but was able to continue to pull away from Troftgruben as he worked his way through the back of the field.
Strand approached the thickest lapped traffic with four to go with Strand having to abandon the bottom to lap a pair of cars using the middle of the track. Strand continued to hold the lead which by this point was by nearly a straightaway.
Strand continued on for the victory over Troftgruben, Cole Schill, Tyler Peterson, and Joey Pederson.
Strand’s sweep helped him regain the point lead over Cole Schill. Strand will carry a 54-point lead into the Howie Schill Memorial on August 16th and 17th at Red River Valley Speedway.
