NLRA EVENT PREVIEW: 14th PRELUDE TO THE JOHNNY AT RIVER CITIES

Kicking off the three-day 17th annual John Seitz Memorial at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks will be the 14th running of the 'Prelude to the Johnny' which gives the series the opportunity to crown its champion on home turf while the field of around 50 drivers get a night of racing at the high-banked quarter-mile Bullring under their belts before the qualifying heat races on Friday night.

NLRA RECAP: GRESETH SWEEPS LABOR DAY WEEKEND AT GREENBUSH

Mike Greseth, driver of the No. 17 Superior Customs Rocket XR1, put himself in prime position to secure his third consecutive series championship over the holiday weekend, winning both features held at Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. The victories were Greseth's 16th and 17th series victories in just 55 series starts since his debut in May of 2021. The victories also earned him an 84-point lead heading into Thursday night's season finale during the running of the 'Prelude to the Johnny' at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks which kicks off the John Seitz Memorial weekend.

NLRA EVENT PREVIEW - LABOR DAY DOUBLE AT GREENBUSH

We're down to the final three events of the 2023 campaign with two of which scheduled for Labor Day weekend as the series will head back to Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN for a double header on this holiday weekend. The races will be the fourth and fifth held at the high-banked Roseau County oval that measures just over one-quarter mile. These races will also be the 42nd and 43rd for the series at the track and will be the 19th and 20th of the series' season which would be the first time the series has run 20 events in a season since 2003, and just the second time that the series has run 20 times in a season in its 26 season history.

It was another great weekend if you were, or still are, a Modified ace, as two of the most impressive additions to the NLRA series in recent years split the weekend. Two-time and defending series champion, and current point leader, Mike Greseth picked up his 14th series win Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, while rookie Tyler Peterson won his fourth and fifth features of the season at Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN and Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN.

Four-time NLRA champion Dustin Strand won his 29th NLRA feature last Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, with John Seng winning his first series feature last Saturday night at Devils Lake Speedway in Doyon, ND.

The longest stretch of the season lies ahead for the NLRA and its series regulars this week with four races in as many days, which starts Thursday night with a visit to Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN for a night of racing during the Norman County Fair. The series continues to I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN on Friday and Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday for the 5th annual Golden Hammer Classic. The four race stretch ends Sunday during the Greater Grand Forks Fair at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.

SCHILL AND SENG SPLIT NLRA WEEKEND WINS

The NLRA kicked off the month of June with a pair of marquee events last weekend, with Lance Schill winning in front of a capacity crowd during the Outlaws first visit of the season to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND, and Brad Seng being crowned King of the Dirt at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN.

This weekend, the NLRA season springs back into action with another pair of marquee events. On Friday night, the series competes alongside the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND before heading down for the first of two visits this month to I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN for the Dick Johanneck Memorial King of the Dirt.

The 2023 NLRA campaign rolls on this Saturday night, May the 27th, at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. Saturday's race, which is also the first of five scheduled visits to the events for the series at the quarter-mile, high-banked Roseau County Oval, will be the 38th visit by the series at the Speedway.

NLRA Event Preview - Buffalo River and 2nd Howie Schill Memorial at Red River Valley

The series is set to round out the month of August with two races in the Fargo area this weekend. For the second week in-a-row, the NLRA will race for an increased payout during the second running of the Howie Schill memorial at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo on Saturday night. The series will head east on highway 10 on Sunday to run at Buffalo River Speedway on Sunday night.
