The NLRA season is set to invade the Jamestown Speedway, in Jamestown, ND, for the 20th time in series history on Saturday night, June the 13th. The quarter-mile oval on the Stutzman County Fairgrounds is a favorite of many the NLRA series regulars, and it returns to the NLRA schedule for two races in 2015. Two-time, and defending NLRA series champion Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom won last years' event in Jamestown, his first since 2003, and third overall, and finished runner-up to Jeff Wildung at the 43rd running of the Stampede last September.

Kevin Robertson held off a hard charging Eric Breeschoten for his first feature win at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls. Cody Skytland leads the points in Fergus Falls with NLRA series regular Cole Schill in second, just three points back. Brad Seng won his 44th feature at River Cities over Steve Anderson, while Mike Balcaen, Dustin Strand, and Bill Mooney rounded out the top five. Ricky Weiss won another feature in Winnipeg last Thursday night holding off Bill Mooney and Mike Balcaen. Weiss and Shane Edginton left Winnipeg and joined the Wissota Challenge Series in South Dakota. The Red River Co-Op Speedway in Winnipeg, and the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks fell victim to rain again last week. NLRA Series regular Cole Schill finished fifth at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls last Friday night, Don Shaw was the winner. Another series regular, Mike Balcaen scored a pair of top fives last weekend in Mandan and Minot, ND. Donny Schatz took the opportunity to race at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN after the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars were rained out in Michigan, and it paid dividends with a win. The NLRA and its' series regulars are set to embark on their final road trip of the 2014 season this weekend with its' annual Labor Day Double Header on both Saturday and Sunday night August the 30th and 31st at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. 2012 NLRA series champion Ricky Weiss kicked off the 2014 season with a victory on the opening night of the Memorial Day Double Header. Weiss, driving the Derrick's Sandblasting No. 7, lead the entire distance after inital pole sitter Pat Doar had a tire go down at the start of the race. Jeff Wildung and Cody Skytland were feature winners at the Norman County Raceway last week, while rain claimed what was to be the series debut at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN, and the third appearance of the season at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. Jeff Wildung, in the No. 50 Veit Companies Rocket started fourth and took the lead from Ricky Weiss on lap seven, leading the remainder of the 30 lapper. The win is his eleventh NLRA series victory, and first away from the Viking Speedway. The win also ties him with Zach Johnson and Ricky Weiss for fifth on the NLRA all time wins list. Two time NLRA series champion Cody Skytland won his fourth career series feature Thursday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Skytland started tenth and passed race long leader Donny Schatz on lap 24 for his first series win since 2010. The win is also his first behind the wheel for Kakela Motorsports. Schatz, Brad Seng, Steven Pfeifer, and Zach Johnson rounded out the top five. NLRA action continues Friday night when the series is scheduled to make its' debut at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN. |
