Ricky Weiss won at the River Cities Speedway last Friday night, with Brad Seng, in the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom, Dustin Strand, in the Q&Z Plumbing & Heating No. 71, Joey Pederson, in the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors MB Custom, and Steve Anderson, in the No. 9 Hi-Per-Flex Panel Systems Pierce rounding out the top five.

NLRA series action continues this Saturday night, August the 8th, with a trip to Minnesota's iron range, as the series will head east to take on the Hibbing Raceway and its' own stout contingent of late model racers, for just the fourth time in series history. Dustin Strand, driver of the Q&Z Plumbing & Heating No. 71, will try to carry his momentum into Hibbing, after coming off a win at the Jamestown Speedway last Saturday night. Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, will try to hold the point lead that he has held since the NLRA series debut at the I-94 Speedway in June. Balcaen will head into Hibbing with only eight points separating himself and Strand atop the series standings. Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom will head into Hibbing as the defending winner of the NLRA event in Hibbing, and will be only 22 points back of Balcaen for the series lead.
After mother nature swept the previous weekend of NLRA series action, Mike Balcaen and Brad Seng put there names in the win column during the first series races in nearly a month.
Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Victory Circle parked in victory lane at River Cities for the first time since September 2, 2011, after defeating Pat Doar and Brad Seng last Friday night. The win is Balcaen's 21st NLRA series victory, at the time re-tying him with Brad Seng, who picked up his 21st series win on May 25th at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. A stretch of four races in four nights begins on Wednesday night June the 25th and continues on Thursday June the 26th at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, as the NLRA races during the 119th Norman County Fair. Then the series heads south and makes its' debut at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN on Friday night June the 27th, before ending the weekend with its' third trip of the season at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. Friday night June the 20th at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND. The race, scheduled to be the 19th at the high-banked quarter-mile on the Grand Forks County Fairgrounds. The track serves as the home track for many of the NLRA's series regulars. Joey Pederson, Donny Schatz, and Pat Doar were NLRA winners at the Speedway last season. Joey Pederson has three wins; Brad Seng has two wins, and Steve Anderson has one win.
Jeffrey Massingill picked up his first NLRA feature victory during the Mike Baumgardner Memorial race at the Hibbing Speedway on Saturday night. Zach Johnson, and Joey Pederson each kept their strong seasons going with NLRA series victories last week. The action began on Wednesday Night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Zach Johnson of Kensington, MN moved up from the fourth starting spot in his heat race to pick up the victory that would lead to him drawing the pole for the main event. He never let that draw go to waste as he dominated the 30 lap main event, especially in the early going, as he lapped half of the races' 28 starters, before a caution on lap 22 bunched the field back up for an eight lap shootout. 2013 NLRA Schedule 1.
