Edginton and Strand Split NLRA Bullring Weekend

Shane Edginton won on a last lap pass in turn four at the Jamestown Speedway on Saturday for his second career series victory, while Dustin Strand won his third NLRA feature victory in five races Sunday night at the Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, MN.

Edginton Steals One at the Line in Jamestown

Canadians Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Enns Brothers Black Diamond, and Dave Smith, in the No. 06 Polar Industries Capital lead the field to the green. Balcaen won the drag race to turn one, but Smith motored around the outside, and took the lead down the back stretch.

NLRA Event Preview - Devils Lake Speedway

On Saturday night, July the 23rd, the NLRA will head west for the 18th time in series history to the Devils Lake Speedway near Crary, ND. The track hosted two series events last season, and is scheduled to do so again this season.

Last season, Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom and Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Millenium split the season series in Devils Lake last season.

NLRA Event Preview - River Cities Speedway And Greenbush Race Park

On Friday night, June the 17th, the NLRA will once again proudly co-headline one of the areas biggest racing spectacles, as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series makes its' first of two stops at the three-tenths mile oval on the Grand Forks County Fairgrounds. The NLRA will be making its' 26th appearance at the speedway since 1999, and will be making the first of five scheduled appearances at the speedway this season.

Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Winnipeg Hearing Centres MasterSbilt, won his first race of the season last Friday night at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. The win was his sixth in late model action at the speedway, as he fended off charges from two-time and defending NLRA series champion, and defending River Cities champion Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Longhorn. Mooney became the fourth different winner in four nights in what is arguably the most competitive class at the three-tenths mile oval on the Grand Forks county Fairgrounds, that will host five NLRA series races this season. The first NLRA race at River Cities is two weeks from this Friday night when the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series hits town for the first of two scheduled visits.

Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Enns Brothers Black Diamond, won his first feature at River Cities since 2014 last Friday night, rebounding from a DNF at the opener the week prior. Balcaen went on to finish second to Don Shaw at the season opener at the Viking Speedway last Saturday night.

Shane Edginton, driver of the No. 4 Performance Auto Victory, finished second at River Cities, with Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Winnipeg Hearing Centres MasterSbilt rounding out the podium. Winners of seven of the last eight River Cities season points titles, Joey Pederson, driver of the Dahlstrom Motors No. 7P, and Brad Seng, driver of the S&S Transport No. 12S, guided their pair of MB Customs to top five finishes.

The late model season has officially come to an end, with and a few NLRA series regulars racing their final races of the 2015 season over the last two weekends. Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Moyer Longhorn, and Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Rivinius Ranch MasterSbuilt by JMR, ran at the Fall Classic at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN on October 9th and 10th. Strand finished seventh in the main event, with Cole Schill finishing eleventh. The race was won by two-time series winner this season Don Shaw.

Strand Steals Victory From Weiss At Devils Lake Speedway

2013 NLRA series champion Dustin Strand, driver of the No. 71 Q&Z Plumbing & Heating Moyer Longhorn, won his second NLRA series feature of the season in dramatic fashion Saturday night at the Devils Lake Speedway near Doyon, ND. The win is also Strand's fifth NLRA series triumph, tying him with a pair of all-time greats, Joel Cryderman and Tom Corcoran. Strand's win also tightened up an already super close battle at the top of the NLRA series season long point standings, as Strand now sits just 14 markers back of Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Black Diamond, with three races remaining in the season.

Dustin Strand Wins At Devils Lake Speedway

Ricky Weiss lead for 24 laps and through the final four corners, but Dustin Strand took the lead on the front stretch, and lead for about the final 30 feet, winning his second NLRA series feature of the season Saturday night at the Devils Lake Speedway near Doyon, ND. The win is also Strand's fifth NLRA series triumph, tying him with a pair of all-time greats, Joel Cryderman and Tom Corcoran. The margin of victory was .048 of a second. Brad Seng finished third, with Bill Mooney and Dusty Peterson rounding out the top five. Strand also ate into Mike Balcaen's lead in the NLRA series standings, as the pair will head into next weekends' labor day double header at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN separated by just 14 points. Don Shaw won at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls last Friday night, with Cole Schill, driver of the No. 44 Rivinius Ranch MasterSbilt by JMR continuing a strong season in second.

Ricky Weiss Wins Fifth of 2015 At Greenbush

Ricky Weiss in the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting Bloomquist, won his fifth NLRA series feature of the season Saturday night at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN, the 18th series win of his career. Weiss and Dustin Strand, driver of the Q&Z Plumbing & Heating No. 71, shared the front row at the start, with Strand winning the drag race to turn one at the start. Strand lead the first five laps, before Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom took advantage of a lap six restart to pass Ricky Weiss for second, and start reeling in Strand for the lead, which he took on lap nine.
